Vos sees that La Court *is* going to catch Farrand-Prévot so she winds it back up & passes them both to win the stage, a beautiful & thrilling victory for the greatest champion. But I'm in awe of the sportswomanship of a racer clearly still that hungry, the solidarity with her younger teammate. /end

You're the best ever. Farrand-Prévot's got her whole career ahead of her. Grab the win and the yellow jersey of the biggest race in the world. But no, you can see on the tape, Vos hesitates a little. At max effort uphill she has the mental space to judge whether La Court is going to catch F-P. 5/

She's won a couple of stages in that race and worn the yellow jersey but if this race had existed in her prime she would have been winning 5 stages a year probably, maybe won the whole race if the course was right. So I'm just wondering how bad she wants to win when she sees Farrand-Prévot fading 4/

But this is Mariana Vos. The hands down greatest of all time. Like Eddie Merckx (and beyond) level dominance. And she's spent her entire career without high-profile international stage races like the Tour de France Femmes, which only started in 2022. 3/

Le Court is chasing her down followed closely by Mariana Vos. Le Court is on a different team so obviously she's gonna try to win. But Vos is on Ferrand-Prévot's team so ordinarily it would be bad form to overtake your own teammate to win a stage. 2/

If you look at their curricula, there's very little that's "Classical" in "Classical Christian Education"--"Classical" is a prestigious brand not a time period or group of texts. Which to be fair isn't that different from how most people use the term.

Right they were the norm but is that because social division is the "natural" state of things or because social division serves the interests of those in power -- whether an old chieftain or JD Vance -- very well so they work very hard to maintain it?

I think it's only accurate in the sense that diversity has, historically, weakened social trust and unity amid a constant drumbeat of prominent people proclaiming that you shouldn't trust people who are different from you.
