Space Systems Engineer. Landing on the Moon in 2025, 2026 and 2028. Building the future of humanity in Space.

Austin, Texas
Tonight we watched as #BlueGhost was captured by the lunar night.

We don't expect her to wake up, but at the same time, Blue has surprised at every turn.

We have captured sights never before seen by mankind and opened the lunar surface to commercial activities.

I can't wait to return.

What does it take to vacuum up lunar regolith while already in a vacuum? The Lunar PlanetVac team knows.

We received video of our LPV operations and invited the payload team into the MOC to watch the video on our video wall.

Seeing their excitement was so rewarding after years of hard work!🧪🌖

Blue Ghost is rocking on with our Lunar Magnetotelluric Sounder (LMS) deployment!🌑🔍🧪

This involved deploying probes, which look very much like cannonballs flying over the Moon, and then deploying the antenna mast straight up. So as far as I’m concerned, we are basically #Moon pirates. 🏴‍☠️🦜

Oh, what a beautiful morning 🎶

Oh, what a beautiful dayyyy🎶

Good Morning on the Mare Crisium!

Blue Ghost has landed, intact, upright, in 1 piece and is sending back beautiful photos of the lunar landscape!

Now the real work begins.

We have 2 weeks (1 lunar day) to collect #scientific data for our payloads! 🧪

We made it!!

Blue Ghost is ON THE MOON!🧪🌒🚀

The #Moon is so beautiful. Yes it appears monochrome, but the bright white ejecta and the pitch black of shadowed regions create a diverse landscape.

I love how we are finally able to make out smaller craters that were not visible and higher altitudes. 🧪 Only a few days until Blue Ghost lands!

Blue Ghost completed LOI2 which brought us into lower elliptical orbit around the #Moon. We were able to capture the footage seen here at approx 120km off the surface of the Moon.

For reference, the ISS orbits the Earth at around 400km.

We are getting close to descent, only a few weeks to go!🧪

🌎How it started be How it’s going🌖

It blows my mind. This makes me want to explore so much deeper into the solar system. I hope we will get that chance.

I'm amazed at how alien the #Moon looks in these photos. For something we see almost everyday, this looks so foreign. 🧪

In this photo we see the Lunar Environment heliospheric X-ray Imager (LEXI), Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment (LuGRE) and the Next Generation Lunar Retroreflector (NGLR).

We haven’t landed yet but we have already been returning data to assist with our payload’s scientific endeavors 🧪

Unreal. 🤯

We are so close! 🧪

We made it to the Moon!

Blue Ghost is currently orbiting our nearest celestial neighbor! 🌖

It’s truly unbelievable to see our lander finally in orbit around the thing I’ve been looking at in the night sky for 35 years.

I can’t wait to get the chance to stick the landing in a few weeks!🧪

We just completed our Lunar Or it Insertion (LOI) maneuver!

That means Blue Ghost is now orbiting another celestial body and has left our home forever.

Good-bye Blue!🧪

A beautiful view of Earth captured by Blue Ghost! The images we have been capturing are breathtaking. 🧪🦋

I hope we can inspire the next generation of #space explorers the same way images from the ISS and Hubble inspired me as a kid.

We noticed a small dot that becomes eclipsed by the Earth in the video captured by Blue Ghost.

I give you our destination! (The Moon)🧪

We caught a beautiful view of our little blue planet. 🥹

I can't stop watching this video, thinking our lander is truly leaving us behind. 🧪🦋

Blue Ghost is on her way back out towards her apogee! #BGM1

Rare that Texas looks like Wisconsin, but here we are.

Shameless crosspost from Firefly Space on Twitter🧪:

Blue Ghost's fluid and propulsion systems are now primed up! This bi-propellant priming distributes our fuel and oxidizer to the engines, getting them ready for our first burn in a couple days.

Beautiful photo from the top deck of Blue Ghost 📸

You are looking at our 2 gimbals which support our payloads. The taller object is the Lunar Environment heliospheric X-ray Imager (LEXI), while the long flat object is supporting Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment (LuGRE)!🧪🦋

Blue Ghost on orbit commissioning has been completed!

Attitude determination and control has been verified, the team increased the data transfer rate, established a power-positive attitude, and completed initial lander health checks!

We are on our way to the Moon! 🧪🦋🌌

Blue Ghost is on its way to the Moon! Clear separation from the launch vehicle and the team had acquisition of signal (AOS) shortly afterward.

Now the journey begins!

Our rocket, a SpaceX Falcon9 is rolling out to the pad!!

Blue Ghost is tucked in cozy in he fairing ready to go vertical at the pad! 🧪

I can’t believe I made the cover page of the Chicago Daily Herald!!

I’m so happy to see the excitement surrounding space exploration. I feel like for a while we lost that spirit of adventure, and I hope I can do my part to bring it back. Keep dreaming big and shooting for the Moon!

Blue Ghost is ready to ride a Falcon 9 to orbit!

In this photo you can see our RCS engines on the side of the lander. These help to control the spacecraft during the burns we will complete on our way to the Moon! 🧪🌕
