Curtain to Curtain coming to you from Pixar Studios!
July 16, 2025 at 7:19 PM
So far, we've discussed about 40 shows on Curtain to Curtain, and here's how they've shook out for the both of us. Can you tell whose is whose?

Don't worry! Your adjacent theater kids haven't gone away. We're hard at work on releasing our next few episodes, but we took a minute to see a show. If you've seen it, tell us your top 5!

Look at these smiling faces. We're hard at work editing our next episode, which should be up on our channel in the next day or so.

Finally, our most recent episode sees us tackle the meaning of life, and it's many lessons in two shows meant to make you believe in... something. One from Jesus himself, the other from Phil.

Then, we time travel from the 50s to the 1800s as we talk about mismatched couples in this coupling of shows where 50s rockabilly meets Russian rave music. We were pretty mixed up ourselves.

World's greatest hero, Kevin Bacon, has his most storied tale brought to life on stage and gay kids with gay parents rejoice as there's a musical for you too! And this episode, Phoenix struggles to learn the difference from musical structure and song structure 😓
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Then things get really really gay, but we still have tradition! As we tackle the challenges of keeping a family together both in Falsettos and Fiddler.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Then, we look at two stories taking place on opposite sides of the world. A battle of divas fighting for the crown. Don't cry for us, just listen!
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Next, we're treated to the show that makes Lazuli's blood boil from the mere mention of it and one we expected to be a joke and turned out to be a masterpiece. It's also the return of Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes, plus another Adrienne Warren spotting!
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Then, we get on a win streak as we look at two more critically acclaimed shows. The laughs and tears are in abundance on this one. Plus, a serious death threat is made to someone who can't appreciate greatness.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Those Jellicle Cats, they had it coming! Perhaps our most critically acclaimed combination yet! Also the episode where we get our first S-tier ranking!
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Might be one of our favorite combinations so far. One totally lived up to the hype while the other was such a huge surprise that we keep coming back to it. Lazuli also wishes the writers of one show a very special thank you. 😉
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
After such a high on a last episode, we hit a rough snag. One is a little too outdated, while the other isn't the story it should be. But... Adrienne Warren spotting, so there's that.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
This combination couldn't have been more stark, and yet, both shows pleasantly surprised. This is also the beginning of our love affair with Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
One's rather meh, and the other is the gaping pits of hell. We'll let you figure out which is which.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
These next two shows couldn't have been more different, and our responses to them also were on opposite ends. (How on earth did this beat #Wicked??)
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
This time, we gave Disney another chance (and it paid off), and we showed a reasonable amount of love to a certain red-headed orphan girl.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Next, we took on some well known IPs, and this might be where you start to notice our taste might differ from the wider audience.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
We kicked off with our numbered shows. This is where we discovered musicals can come in many different forms and where Phoenix admitted he will always be a Lin-Manuel apologist.
November 16, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Has anyone seen Encore! on Disney+? Phoenix is obsessed with it and can't stop bringing it up in different episodes. If you've seen it, let us know so we can follow you and talk about it constantly together.
