I have a Bernina, too, but it is persnickety with thick fabric. And 2 layers of wool coating is very thick. Didn’t want to take any chances. I’m team #boundbuttonholes from now on!

Thank you for your kind words. The lining is kasha ( flannel backed cotton satin). I added a wool/poly interlining behind that ( extra warmth) & machine quilted for stability. I learned so much from making this coat. Bound buttonholes will now become the standard in all my future coats.

I hate making toiles but when it comes to good fitting pants, there’s no other way to get it without a toile.

Yes, I know I goofed on the strap placement. An outcome of gabbing with fellow sewists while sewing. I like how it turned out.

I have a similar approach. Print line drawing, swatch fabric & attach to a project page from @grainlinestudio.bsky.social & pop it in a 3 ring. Add notes as I sew.
