So many options, Malta and Ireland are the only EU countries who don’t allow it, so there’s 25 EU examples to look at straight away. #HomeToVote was great but isn’t sustainable, i think the current rule is you can vote at 18 months abroad? But people are not taken off the register &get polling cards

The German advice is so detailed, “keeping up with German politics/interest in politics” isn’t enough but you can combine an interest in politics with something else which might allow you to vote, such as being a cross-border worker. It’s so detailed and interesting, Ireland could learn from it

I read up on German voting rights yesterday (was getting sponsored ads for “foreign Germans voting rights”, have dual citizenship) - they have two main classes, temporarily out of the country with an address in Germany (study/work) or permanently living abroad but lived in Germany up to 25 yrs ago
