I’m doomscrolling & political shitposting again so here’s some of my recent sewing projects! After sewing my 1st dress a month ago, I made a baby outfit for my new nibling (still cooking, due soon), a dress for my sister with ties for easy nursing should she decide to (w/ pockets!), & a tank for me!

Added black-out liners to our curtains. They just attach with curtain hooks so they are removable. Didn’t realize we needed them after getting the other curtains in the spring when the trees were full of leaves but when they fell, the street lamp was directly in my face at night. Game changer!!

Replaced our bedroom rug, which was only a necessity because the jute rug we had before had become so raggedy that it was actively trying to injure me. My foot kept getting caught in loose weaves and I was one trip away from opening my face on the radiator.

We use an ikea billy bookcase (with doors) as a pantry and we added these little shelf baskets to better use of the space. Also from ikea. We’ve been using the Billy as a pantry for years and this addition was such an upgrade. Got 2 of them.

I’ve already shared this but im wildly proud of the skirt I sewed for my kitchen counter to hide the visual clutter on the open shelves beneath. The fabric was a birthday splurge.

A silly fix is that even though my shower is extra tall, i used my 10yr old standard length decorative curtain for the last three years. Looked ridiculous. Finally replaced it! (X-long shower liners are easier to find). Also, that little lamp was a lovely addition: no big light even in the bathroom!

I’m most proud of the project where I used a grout paint pen to refurbish the unsalvageable grout of my bathroom tile floor. SO worth the effort. The floors actually feel clean now!

If the clock app is (illegitimately) banned at the end of the week, I’m gonna have so much more time for my new obsession with the fiber arts. Used our second hand sewing machine for the first time this week and made my kitchen counter a skirt! Please don’t zoom in on the seams lol

I’m sorry to report that the body does in fact in iron to function properly. I was very deficient in January (absorption issue, still not solved) but after 5 iron infusions, my nails have stopped breaking and are growing in so strong and pretty again! Wild to see the evidence!

Hosting guests fills up my cup as much as it exhausts. But is there anything better than cleaning up after they leave? This little daybed (which becomes a queen bed when deconstructed) is the hardest worker in this office.

I know that it’s true that growing up means becoming the weirdo you wanted to be because I never feel more like myself than when I’m wearing overalls. I LOVED overalls as a kid.
