Husband, rock climber, cat person, Nucamp trailer enthusiast. Retired so I can spend most of my time with my wife (mostly) traveling with our Tab 320s to climbing destinations and when at home training for rock climbing as well as enjoying our cats.
Stef and I have been in Red Rocks Canyon for a week now. Yesterday was our first day getting into the mountains due to weather. At first it was winds (gusts 50+mph), then rain. Anyway, yesterday we scrambled Monument Peak which is rarely done, the previous ascent was a month ago. We now know why

Stef and I are having a great time here in Joshua Tree NP. Our backup plan was Cochise Stronghold had the government shutdown it it dissolved here we are.

My wife and I made it to Joshua Tree NP last week - barely. Drove from Seattle to Shasta Mountain, CA in the worst weather (for us) with hard rain the entire way, winds up to 45 mph, temps mid-30s.

The shake-out trip to Vantage,WA for our 2025 TAB 320s BD. The first trip of our travel season is in a couple of weeks to Joshua Tree and Red Rocks canyon for a month.

We would’ve liked to get the 400 or even 360 but couldn’t justify upgrading the TV as well.

Okay - because of your FB post I’m now experimenting with Bluesky. It’s nice to have an outdoor enthusiasts community so perhaps with time and encouragement that will grow here (or elsewhere).

Voyage of the Trash Cat in Potrero Chico. A really fun 15 pitch sport climb that goes at 5.9 on nearly every pitch. But only 5.9, that is, if you can climb cracks - one section has 400’ “splitter” crack (although not Indian Creek style).
