It’s right up there with Starbucks putting olive oil in coffee, I guess.

Typos. Everywhere. Typos. Irn Bru. Is odd. And medicinal.

The one outside my window every night just makes car alarm noises. I am neither charmed nor entertained.

That is SOMA’s signature Travis Bean. There’s a piece of solid aluminum that comprises the headstock and neck, and runs the length of the body.

The feedback did go on for a bit.

So much fog.

I absolutely detested everything else on their menu, but I would eat those things by the handful. I can taste it right now.

Yes indeed. Just the duo. Loudest thing I’ve ever seen.

I go there in my head often.

I very much watched it blow up live. I went to a Math/Science Magnet, and this sort of event was the kind of thing they couldn’t pass up. A teacher! Going to space! Bring out the A/V carts!

And I say this knowing that mine usually just involve a shot and a big scanning machine.

I hope you have some options for self care that can help you through this. I use Ativan and THC. Mileage varies.

I sincerely hope your scan is clear. Fuck cancer.

We don’t share a lot of experience (me being cis/straight/white dude) so mostly, you talk, I listen.

That said, I’ve had a lot of cancer scans. The experience is scary and isolating and awful, and that’s at the best of times. The whole process seems to be designed to instill PTSD in patients.

I mean, there’s the Tolkien-themed names like Palantir or Anduril. They sound good and dystopian, while still maintaining some of the beauty of Tolkien’s wonderful word creations.

For those of us who recognize the source there’s an awful irony in Thiel’s usage that makes it more horrible.

FWIW there’s a coffee shop on Washington Blvd across from the Sony lot called the Conservatory. They roast their beans onsite and make very, very good coffee. Highly recommend the next time you’re stuck in Culver City with time to kill.

It was only yesterday that I realized that it’s not actually “nowhere” backwards, and I got unreasonably annoyed about that.

Then I realized Samuel Butler spelled it that way too. Now I don’t know what to think.
