she was born to nomadic seafaring raen whose ancestral lands include parts of the ruby sea, governed by no one, forced to leave early on in her life and make the journey west to escape imperial occupation

unlike the raen of sui-no-sato who sought refuge under the sea,

before that, her signature white mage weapon would have been an unnamed staff carved from a tree she fashioned herself using her carpentry and leather-working skills. the branch was native to her homeland and she kept adding details to it over the years, so it has many decorations attached to it now
