If there is no enforcement, then it’s like having no judicial system to begin with. If there are no consequences, then it’s like having no judicial system at all.

True, it’s not an approved method for DoD secure communication. One of the reasons why is it’s weaker encryption practices - key rotation for example.

The included link is new to me and requires some digestion.

Precisely. While “Kremlin dude” is using Signal over an unsecured (adversarial) phone network, the one-time key is easily compromised. Any communication w/other chat members will also render the chat members keys susceptible to breaking, because the message is known. No one is talking about it…yet!!

Are you certain that Signal is most secure? Here is the protocol. Notice the one time key generation. If a message is sent over an unsecured network, where sniffers exist, and the content of the message is already known, then the encryption key can be deduced.

No! security of the app is in question. It uses a one-time pad, if I am not mistaken. If the app is used over an unsecured network (Russian cell phone network), and the unencrypted message known, the data can be captured, and unencrypted, revealing the one-time encryption key. Very bad thing!!

If Kremlin dude was sending Signal chats on an unsecured (monitored) network in Russia, you can be sure that his Signal one-time encryption key was compromised. That would make all his chats “open”. It could also mean that the recipient’s encryption key is also compromised.

Someone with knowledge about Signal’s one-time encryption techniques, please comment: was the encryption key, used by the person texting from the Kremlin over an unsecured network in Russia, have his key compromised?

Apple IIe. Wrote a “guess the number” program that just generated a random integer between 0-100. The user input a number and the program responded with “go higer”, “go lower”, or “you are awesome, you guessed right.” Does that count as SW? :-)

I don't think it would have mattered. With Cannon and the SC, all of it would have been slowed considerably or minimized in effect. The questions to ask now are:
1. Do we still have a democracy?
2. Do some “eletes” have more rights than others?
3. Does money get you further in our legal system?

The checks and balances rest with congress to curb the reaches of the supreme court. What should congress do to limit any “favoritism” that the SC can exercise?

I am simply asking the question… I don't know anything. Don't go wild on this. I am just asking so that EXPERTS can help answer.

TY. These starter packs are necessary and good for any newbie. I hope the community develops starter “block” packs for the incoming bots and other non-nice feeds. It will keep this place more clean.

Trump is not a serious person, and not on the side of the law. Its no surprise to see Gaetz as the nominee because he too has no regard for the law. This is just ridiculous!!

Is he not permitted to remove generals? If I recall correctly, didn't Obama do that once or twice? (Someone who actually knows, please validate). Haven't other presidents done this?
Is it the fear that Trump will “purge” many generals? Or is it the use of a tribunal?

We have News programs that are nothing more than commentary shows masquerading as News. Viewers cant tell the difference very well. Also, “fair and balanced” doesn't apply to “cable” news, which means truth doesn't matter when they provide their version of truth and news.
