Idealism without illusions. Solarpunk. Stablecoins are cool. Urbanist. Probably either coding, gardening, or arguing about affordable housing at a public meeting somewhere.

Day 1 of posting a new meme every day until @beyer.house.gov retires, instead of clinging to power.

Despite being 76 years old at the time of the election, @beyer.house.gov has already filed to run for re-election in 2026!

Don, you are becoming a liability. Please retire, secure your legacy, and make space for new leaders to rise up.

The gerontocracy must stop clinging to power!

No longer giving citizenship (despite promises) to people who serve in the military, like my grandfather was able to get after fighting Nazi's on the beaches of Normandy.

Meanwhile, it's being sold for $5m.

BTW this would have failed if Gerry Connolly had been alive to vote no.

These super old democrats clutching on to power even as they are dying is costing their legacy everything.

Fools.

The Neighborhood Barbershop in Falls Church has free "fades for feds" for laid off federal workers.

Not to brag too hard but I'm ranked #5 in the world at an extremely niche online board game none of you have ever heard of which is played by just a few thousand people globally.

The job market was rough a few weeks ago, but now it's hellish. The energy in DMV is brutally pessimistic.

This is one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen.

Some conservative family members said this would never happen & I was being crazy for suggesting it would.

We were not alarmists. We were never over-reacting. It's only day 1 and they are stripping citizenship from millions. WTF

It was never about stopping illegal immigration. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.

This is why its important in areas with lots of impervious surfaces (roads, buildings, and things water runs right off of during storms) to create rain gardens, use rain barrels, and collect as much of the water as we can.

But if I look up with my water utility where the water source for my home is, it’s actually a reservoir in an entirely different watershed that gets pumped to me.

My drinking water comes from Occoquan Reservoir mostly.

I live in Tripps Run Watershed, meaning all the rain that falls in my neighborhood drains into a tribunary called Tripps Run. That is part of the larger, Lake Barcroft watershed where all water reaches lake Barcroft. That’s part of another larger watershed, etc, etc -> Potomac River -> Atlantic.
