Yeah I guess if the US invaded Tijuana, Monterrey, Toronto, Vancouver, etc, just bc a lot of English-speakers live there, that would make sense, right?
This angers me more than I can describe in words. The most basic morality is you don't let bullies profit from violence. That is square one for any decent theory of justice.

Wish home ec had been like... you learn how to cook, do dishes, sew a button, take care of a robot baby, but also.... change a tire, basic self defense, taxes and other financial literacy, how to use a drill, etc. Why not a coed life skills class? Home ec was the SHIT but why just "women's work"?

Appreciate that the virgin/whore archetypes in Blue Velvet, that they are not pitted against each other; the plot doesn't revolve around making a choice between them. The former isn't boring and totally uninvolved, and the latter isn't evil and crazy, and gets a happy ending instead of unalived.
