If you need to visualize how the book restriction bill SB13 would damage Texas schools, here’s the just-released Free-Response Question 3 (Set 2) from this year’s AP Literature exam. And, next to it, here’s the same question with the books that would be banned from schools under the bill whited out.

So, I got a press release today that's been bugging me. It's partially keeping me up (mostly its arthritis pain in my neck) and I thought I feel like I need to share this.
Wanna see when anti-woke goes off the rails? Come with me!!!!!🧵

I wrote this Python script for a project where we had to write up 40 RTK requests to different school districts. I made a csv file with each district's name, and this just iterates through and fills in the info then saves the file.

A couple months ago, I built a scraper that combs through the Moms For Liberty county chapter websites and collects information on its listed officers.
Bucks County grew by seven members since March 23, making it the largest team across the country.

BookLooks is officially gone but the content rating website championed by groups like Moms For Liberty appears to be moving to a new home: RatedBooks.org.
Hundreds of BookLooks reports have already been moved over onto the site earlier this month. Here's how I'm tracking it. 1/15

It's official, all of the BookLooks pdf reports are officially unavailable on the website.
I ran my scraper to download the files this morning, while they were still available, but contained no new fiels from last week.
Here's my archive of every PDF available.

I created a database of the unofficial primary candidates for school board races in Bucks County. This includes the party each candidate filed for and what party they're registered as in a Feb. 17 voter registration export from the PA state dept.

BookLooks will be closing down next Sunday. The website has been a resource to parents' rights groups like Moms For Liberty since it was created a few years ago.
I made a database of BookLooks reviews that we used for USA TODAY here. But, I want to go back over it🧵

BookLooks, the book rating website used by parents' rights activists for years, is apparently being closed down.
Seems like as good a time as any to repost this story I worked on two years ago.
