Garden update. Tuberose have sprouted. Hopefully they can get there.🤞 Yarden bouquet #2 with sage, dogwood, and peachy climbing roses. Also first bolero rose of the year.

Going out. Scent of the night: Areej le Doré - Koh-I-Noor (2018). Easily my personal fav. perfume ever. White waxy floral w/ a beautiful ambery oudish touch.

Angeliki dropped in the middle of the night (PST) so I resigned myself to missing this annual 104 bottle release. When I woke up, it was still available, so it’s on its way! I saved my lunch money for months. Hint: This is also the missed connection in the Scent Strip.

fūm - Kodama (Miss Layla, 202?). This Japanese inspired hinoki & moss combo is terpenic, but still smooth. It has a citrusy (yuzu) sharpness & a touch of spice (shiso) as well. Well balanced, light, calm, & meditative. A less abrasive GdG Hinoki #sotd #perfumesky

It’s nice to get an actual black tea note too, slightly bitter/phenolic. The vanilla abs is deep & verges on chocolatey in the dry down. Overall, a good and interesting take on the genre. 👍 Good luck in the A&O awards. #perfumesky #sotd

Found coffee table books in the lil free library. The Paul Strand book is great (NYC, Taos, Mex amd Maine). The Lange is mostly text and not a great selection of her work. Haven’t checked out the third.

A new flower shop opened in my neighborhood. I got Mother’s Day flowers and added some sword fern fronds from my yard to fill it out. The only flowers I recognized were geums and peonies.

#sotd Avon - Timeless (1974). I initially wrote this cheapie chypre off. Only when tried again did I truly get it. It’s a Miss Dior inspired number! Aldehydes, Muguet, & Gardenia. I really love this combo. It’s less leathery & mossy than MD; it’s just a hair more ambery. #perfumesky

#sotd Kiehl’s Original Musk. Rosy, slightly sweet, and yes, musky. It has a touch of the dirty to keep things interesting. Still the best musk out there at a great pricepoint. #perfumesky

Two mods & a final. It feels nice to complete things. 1st is a requested eau de cologne style, lemon & muguet. The other is what I would make in the style (ie no muguet). Final is a vintage style vanilla-based on a person’s cats: A little animalic, orris, & catmint herbal. Always learning.
