Also, a study in UK suggest a increased risk of TB 6 months post-pregnancy, highlighting the importance of active follow-up of 🫄 with TB infection (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22161161/). A better understanding of the TB-pregnancy context can help to tailor more comprehensive interventions (3/3)

Of course we need to be clever how to spend the limited resources, but never lost the perspective: patients are persons with dreams and should be the center of care! We have the tools, and we know what we need to address as a society (social determinants), so we should be the cure! #EndTB (4/4)

We need to push more for a patient-care centered system. "Adherence" is more a system problem than patient fault. I always made the example of a "not adherent" patient I saw years ago and when I asked he was brutally honest "I cannot come for DOT because I need to work to feed my children" (3/4)

Of course we need more new drugs and new tests (and vaccines!!), however we have already tools to reduce TB burden worldwide, so is already in our hands (as a global community) to cure TB! Addressing in access to healthcare, nutrition and adequate housing can have big impact in TB care (2/4)
