Meet the author! Lily Folts, a graduate student in the @jenmckey.bsky.social lab, just published her manuscript detailing a deep-learning-based method to count and classify ovarian follicles called OoCount. When Lily isn't in the lab, she likes to hike, read, and listen to live music.

Meet the author: Dr. Katie Ranard, a NINDS F32-funded postdoc in the Appel lab, just published her first manuscript describing use of zebrafish to model the impact of maternal nutritional deficiency on brain develepment.

Postdoc Austin Adkins noticed that mutant zebrafish he had inherited behaved oddly in their tanks. So he turned them into a new research project. Great demonstration of serendipity and creativity at today's Dev Bio Section meeting. #devbio #zebrafish 🧪
