The ministers come and go but the ones with the real power are the department secretaries in civil service- especially the HSE. No matter what happens- they will never be held accountable.

Basically, in the past few years, the "Civil War" era (Fianna Fáil vs. Fine Gael) is functionally dead, It's been replaced by a new binary of The Centre Vs The Opposition (Left). Or else you could say mediocre Vs mediocre

Despite Ireland's wealth, there is a lack of investment in the HSE, infrastructure, housing. It feels like the "justified" red tape, are obstacles that hinder any progress. The government have the funds, but when it comes to capacity, it’s lacking. Frustrating.
