Well it could have been, fire grounds are crazy places.

Controlled chaos is a term I like to use when trying to describe them.

I know in my experience if an agency needed to use a drone. It would only happen after air ops had finished for the day.

Yeah drones have their place on the fire ground. Mostly during the Urban Search and Rescue phase and some intelligence gathering.

I think it was CAL Fire was trialling an ex military drone that they could launch during a weather event and provide them with live data on ignitions in remote areas
