I have a relative who I am pretty sure calls me to hear someone to whom they're related say "I love you!" at the end of the call. That side of the family is very cautious with their emotions.

With its cloudy wind and falling leaves, today reminds me of the first autumn I spent in the Ozarks. Clinton wouldn't be elected for another year. The woods were vibrant, with deer and turkey in great numbers, but few friends. It was a new and hostile place to me, but my last "home". I miss that.
