Some people have a workaround with the app but when I try they want to send my email a verification code but that seems broken too... 😮‍💨

Your guest seems off by an order of magnitude on openai revenue and I think those are some vast oversimplifications of how depreciation works and what it means. There are bubble risks for sure but the investments in data centers and research here can create real value in a way that pets.com didn't.

I am not sure if it would be any closer for you but there is Xi'an Kitchen in Milpitas and they have them iirc!

How is Automatic Noodle?! It was on my list but I heard about Fumbling the Future on a podcast and got sniped into reading that first 😅

I suspect this won’t hamper any academic use (I hope not, it seems like great work!) but I imagine many companies will shy away from using it in any load bearing capacity.

My husband was diagnosed and the corticosteroid injection did wonders if you were considering it (the exercises and brace thing didn't really help). Also if you are looking for a new party game, I find getting random people to try the Finkelstein test is great fun.

I can't speak for non-tech companies as my career has been almost entirely in tech but everywhere I've worked has always had more work than engineers to do it and open roles. I believe (perhaps naïvely?) that any increased productivity will just make SWEs even more valuable. Only time will tell!

If only there was a twitter/bluesky equivalent to see more unfiltered discourse at other moments in time to compare. I wonder if other big steps would have produced similar discussion (I'm thinking maybe Fortran and compiled languages in general?) or if there is something about LLMs in particular.

This really resonated with me. Often when I'm talking to someone I feel like they must be using entirely different tools than I am because I simultaneously get tremendous value from using AI daily and yet... I am really not the bit least concerned about the death of software engineering

Think of the cost savings on supplies! One tiny drop of bleach cleans everything!
