The original postee made it sound (to me) like Garson, on his own, made Bowie better... elevated him to new heights... In my mind, this means he is helping to craft the song... whereas Bowie knew who he was hiring to give him the sound he was looking for... It's semantics.. but I'm a writer!

Thank you... very informative. The quoted section (whole) from the interview is a good explanation of his role... improvising at the behest of an artist is not the same as elevating the artist...

Yes, I'm aware of who he is... I was referring to your claim that he had something to do with writing the music rather than just playing it... He isn't attributed with writing the song as are other songwriting collaborators.
