The UCP argues recall is being weaponized against policy, not misconduct.

By that logic, the Gondek recall was also weaponized, as it was explicitly against her policies.

The UCP's reaction to the weaponized recall on Gondek?

To make recall easier.

It's been interesting to see the responses from UCP MLAs subject to a recall petition.

Some focus on their records. Others argue its undemoractic.

A couple have gone personal. Angela Pitt challenged the principal leading hers, while Dale Nally got his petitioner's voting info.
Dale Nally's recall petitioner says he doesn't listen to constituents and cites his concerns over the notwithstanding clause.

Nally responds by saying the petitioner doesn't vote and works as a proxy for a group weaponizing the recall act and the petition has no merit.

And then there were 9.

6 new recall petitions have been approved against UCP MLAs, with the information now posted to the Elections Alberta website

Joining the mix are MLAs Myles McDougall, Ric McIver, Muhammad Yaseen, Rajan Sawhney, RJ Sigurdson +
Dale Nally.
