Keeping an uplifting spirit when the future of NASA science hangs in balance is hard, but I am REALLY excited about this, and we have more data from other telescopes to come. I will continue to explore our universe for as long as our society has the curiosity and generosity to fund science.

Very surprised to see how most of the photons come from a small, ~2 kpc region in the center of the galaxy with no apparent structures from stellar emission. Obviously this just a snapshot based on data I just received, but I think the quasar must be doing something extremely incredible.

Green stars are likely stars with surface temperature higher than that of the sun. The green "nebula" in this image, on the other hand, is the interstellar medium ionized by the massive young stars in this system. You know, the youngins.
