Wait.... You mean Westerra is finally going to be built out? That's been in the plans, and sat empty, for at least 15 years.

To say nothing of the fact that I know of OWNED houses that the yard is in worse shape than some rentals (and yes that OWNED house was lived in by the owner).

Sadly, my friend, lore stipulates that to refuse a triple dog dare is more of a breach of etiquette than it is to skip all the lesser levels of dare and head straight to the triple dog dare.

I find it funny, personally. It was the NDP who brought that in in the first place. But it is pointless, because my 1995 Ford Taurus would fail spectacularly if I'd bought it in MB and tried to register it here, yet because it was registered in SK last, it didn't need inspection.

I remember that plan. The Regina Revitalization Initiative. 'Twas a good plan. Wish I'd been more supportive of it when I ran for city council in 2012.

Along the CN line, there are a number of residential properties withing 200 feet of the tracks (and in Moosomin, I live that far from the tracks). The difference, as I understand it, is that the airport wants to leave that area open for expansion.

Sounds like a wild story. I triple dog dare you to write it. You HAVE to, now. There are dire consequences for refusing a triple dog dare.

Well, now, let's get to the plane truth, shall we? The plane was to be delivered in AUGUST. It was delivered early. There isn't a certified pilot to fly it. Could they have had a pilot ready early? Sure, but how often are you ready for something three months early?

DM sent.

Wait, so... Yorkton wants to separate from Saskatchewan and, what... Join Manitoba?
May 15, 2025 at 7:12 PM
"secret separation committee", huh? I don't remember anything ever being said about it back then....
May 15, 2025 at 7:05 PM
So, what'd we learn today? Anything interesting?
May 8, 2025 at 1:02 AM
I don't think it's that high, honestly.
May 8, 2025 at 1:01 AM
That's about what I figure. Be fun to hold that referendum just so we can wipe the floor with them.
May 8, 2025 at 1:01 AM
That aside, I do think the process needs to play out. What percentage of the population of Saskatchewan REALLY wants to separate? According to separatists, they're the majority, yet far right parties only got 5% of the vote in the election last fall.

I'll send you a DM on the other site, which shall forevermore remain nameless, with my source for the GTH site.
May 7, 2025 at 1:51 PM
I'd like to see that. I know the CJME story (read it this morning) says "outside city limits" but doesn't say where. According to that, development costs inside the city were too high, and the city wants the tax revenue that Costco, and neighbouring future businesses, would generate.
May 7, 2025 at 1:51 PM
I'm not a separatist, but I'm not in favour of shutting down debate on separation. We need the petition to go forward, have the debate, and hold the referendum. With all the (very loud!) talk, I think Saskatchewan needs to see how much of an appetite there really is. My guess is, it's tiny.
May 7, 2025 at 1:47 PM
I'm hearing conflicting stories. One says that Costco was going to build outside the city somewhere, and the city put up this money to encourage them to build in the city. The other says that they were going to build at the GTH, but the city gave them the money to build on Dewdney, inside Pinkie.

He didn't go far enough. If I was premier, I'd be asking her to resign her seat. At the very least, I'd be punting her from caucus. It's the right thing to do.
April 12, 2025 at 1:01 AM
No. He lives in Canada. He literally couldn't be premier if he didn't.
