The app is the Guardian's mobile news app - not a specific whistleblowing app - so there's nothing incriminating about having it on your phone. And when you open it, even if you've already set up an account on the Secure Messaging feature, it will deliberately look as though you haven't used it.

Our Planetary Computing Fellow Dr Sadiq Jaffer @sadiq.toao.com works on an AI 'Conservation Co-Pilot'. And PhD student Zhengpeng Feng helped develop the 'GreenLens' app to measure trees on the ground more quickly and accurately than a person with a tape measure.
