drove from pa to nm to help with habitat restoration for the sonoran mud turtle and chiricahuan leopard frogs... really needed another week.... or lifetime out there. didn't realize the different mountain ranges had their own tarantulas?!

one of a few four toed... there are a few groups who help the amphibians across the road this time of year but i don't think they're training to look for such small salamanders?!

climbed a massive hill, set my backpack down under a tree and climbed over rocks for 20 minutes to look for snakes. rat snake was perched above my backpack the whole time.

western slimy salamander in a Missouri glade. just by luck met some people in Florida that were from Illinois... I gave them all my favorite spots and they gave me theirs. worked out ok.

green frog, nj. on this particular night, the night of 1000 toads (we stopped counting at 300) there was this single green frog waiting to be moved off the roadway.

carpenter frog, NJ. ime, they are underwater 90% of the time... more often heard than seen. during a bioblitz before covid we yoinked this babe from a puddle for a photo. I almost never yoink for a photo, but there you go. #frogfriday

Eastern towhee... these bastards pop up out of the brush for about a second and a half before disappearing again... got lucky guessing where it would land. pa.

white ibis. sometimes you find the right place at the right time... wound up near a popular lake in fl quite accidentally and all the birds were very people tolerant. this ibis wandered in front of some very bright grass... I never touch the saturation levels. if it looks like this why would you?

pinewoods tree frog. friends of mine like to drink and sit in chairs all evening. I suppose that has its place but it's not my thing. so I took a walk from the campsite and there was a puddle full of these little bastards. Yes, I made them get up from their chairs. north carolina.
