It's horrifying because it's going to rewrite your and your kids' memories (or anyone else with a shorter knowledge of the person) of the dead.

Moreover, it'll flatten them to some basic response pattern. We're a species turning against using our own damn brains.

Not for nothing but the spike in crime, particularly homicide, is massive in their recent history. But paltry by comparison to others in the region (particularly 🇲🇽 and 🇧🇷)

Having studied Chilean history for the better part of a decade, and coming off the heels of El Estallido, I think the only thing Chileans fear more than escalating negative social problems is radical change (right or left).

I first found this song a decade or more ago scrolling through YouTube. I think it's the best of the "slowed songs for emotional emphasis" subgenre.

Which is interesting because it predates the trend popularized in Jordan Peele trailers by years. I got 5 on it is still far more eery.

I have told every GP I have had that I get them. But have been told 3x I don't get them frequently enough for it to be a cause of concern. Which...isn't reassuring.

Then again the only time I got them consistently was when I was in academia.
