Never mind, I just confirmed that the capability of the hardware is removed before shipping - but still, having perfectly functional silicon disabled by the administrator to save costs seems like a waste of resources.

If I understand correctly, that means that companies are able to remotely remove capabilities of the hardware you've purchased in case it stops being profitable to the company, which is already a worrying power for a company to have. Is it possible for the end user to restore this functionality […]
