Honestly, just do it. One of the best ways to learn programming is messing with existing stuff and if you don't have to google a bunch of stuff it's not real development anyways.

Yeah it's a windows 7 key that I've used on 5 different motherboards,
1 on windows 7
4 on windows 10
Same windows 7 key (they still work for windows 10 if you upgraded)
