Many facts of our correspondence must have escaped your memory, cause you no longer remember what seemed to draw you to an explanation of your situation once in the past, even if only temporarily. You write that you were given the genuine rubric only once, in the form of a letter Rychner sent you several years back… Alas, dear Walter, the main point lies somewhat differently: it was not Herr Rychner who wrote a letter to you but myself… And it is to this letter, which has so utterly vanished from your consciousness but at the time impressed you so differently, that I am still waiting for the reply, a reply you had declared you were unable to make.
