Honestly I expect him to sign pardons for ANYONE in his administration for the whole length of his term. The only thing that will be left for satisfaction will be social opprobrium - which she may or may not care about.

Gaak. How old am I getting!! I knew that!!! d'oh. Zactly. "Trumpo et GOPo delenda sunt!"

I think there are a LOT of Dem Senators who have given up with getting the extension from the GOP who are MORE than willing to let SNAP and Fed workers go without. I don't think the GOP resolve is that strong and they'd buckle eventually, but many Dems aren't as confident.

I'm going to try to make sure any donking on the Dems I do, I'll include a codicil to blame Trump and the GOP. Like adding "...and confusion to the French!" when you toast.

Maybe, but it looks suspicious that he caved on the LAST CR & it ended badly so staying away from this one seems like a good political choice for him. It's entirely plausible, TO ME, that he DID orchestrate this & they worked out who was gonna fall on their sword. 2 are retiring so they are "safe."

Right there with you. Lotsa of good Dems (altho I have to admit I voted for Durbin) to be supported. And I like to think this whole sh-t show has brought out the best in so many of us.
November 10, 2025 at 9:34 PM
I would have supported him saying this but sadly Durbin is too much of a conventional Dem Senator to say this. I'm glad he's retiring. The world is changing.

Saving for later. I was also under the misunderstanding that the MA plan WAS the Heritage Plan. It's really not.

Yikes. Talk about "saying the quiet parts out loud."

Great shot.

The GOP knows to stay on message. "It's the Democrats." Doesn't sell so better to write about how the Dems won't open the government. Their owners and the Trump cult will eat it up.

First time seeing him in action. He's amazing. Thank you for voting him in!

Hehehe, well, it's not QUITE a musical a la Rocky but there's certainly a lot of good music in there. Love the Landlord's Daughter and the Maypole Song. Barley Rigs is my fave.

Didn't have a one. Even put up some purple lights - wonder if that scared them off? That or ICE (not that they've been in my sleepy suburb, but still) or maybe the threat of rain. Also, dark street. Oh well, I steeled my courage to the sticking point & setup for it. Glad yours was so well received.
