Why do we have 100% tarriffs on Chinese electric cars again?
October 24, 2025 at 3:08 AM
We're very far off that headline, because media would never write it. They'd couch it in non-committal wishy-washy language "Mob with Questionable Motives Attacks Person for Perceived Divisive Comments"

Vancouver builds housing density in a way that does indeed make LA look like Wyoming

Douglas Todd is the undefeated champ of absurd housing takes.

Deal or a deal for a deal seems more likely.

I heard diaspora vote isn't included here? And could be 2-3% of total. Probably helpful to Trzaskowskj

And then we got a new Premier and the government went into overdrive on housing reform, North American leading reforms. And they won re-election again.

Into the abyss we go

Legally and practically it would be near impossible to leave Canada. But boy, talking about it and voting on it is a surefire way to crush your economy. And there are so many new arrivals to Alberta with barely any roots who would go home. So, population collapse and economic malaise. What a win

Conservatives did better in Ontario than BC. They did worse in BC than anywhere else west of Quebec. So I guess by the West they mean...Ontario to the Rockies?

The NDP are in deep rebuild mode. Why would an election happen any time soon? And for the NDP, to what end? They could lose their hard fought wins from the last minority. Its a 169 seat minority!

They don't even need to support any confidence motion. They could just abstain, and the Libs survive.

Yupp. Similar to Vancouver Island. Conservative inroads.. with 35%ish of the vote. Basically, mistaken 'strategic' votes in Green or NDP ridings
April 29, 2025 at 8:39 PM
High turnout in key battlegrounds and liberal strongholds, essentially.
April 25, 2025 at 6:26 PM
In Vancouver it's heavily, heavily weighted to rental now.

Pathetic
February 24, 2025 at 9:08 PM
Yes, if density is only possible through lot consolidation we're never going to get to affordability. We need mixed typologies for more options. And we have passed the new villages planning program. These areas should be prime candidates for SES density...
February 21, 2025 at 7:08 AM
Ok, but why is Staff recommending no on SES? If it's no on that building code change, the City isn't serious about housing reform

Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but the Body Snatchers haven't quite perfected the formula

Everyone who gets sucked into Trump's orbit end up looking absolutely bizarre. Your faces people, what are you doing to them?!

That is an Achilles heel the size of a watermelon
February 15, 2025 at 8:58 PM
America is probably now less popular in Canada than China. So...
February 13, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Conservative voters are split on whether they like a president who wants to destroy our economy and subjugate our nation. Sick people. Make that the election: nationalists vs traitors. Narrative writes itself.
