Anne Frank and her family went into hiding in a secret annex in Amsterdam in July 1942 to escape Nazi persecution. Anne, her family, and the people who hid her, were caught and arrested on August 4, 1944. Anne was deported to Auschwitz, then to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where she died at 15.
