Working on https://remake.dev - Notion-style website builder
My kitchen scale always beeps when I turn it on. It even has a "mute" button, but it forgets it's muted.

The other day I finally snapped, opened it up, and cut the beeper cable.

It's silent now. Yet every time I turn it on, I still hear the beep in my mind. 😅 Shouldn't have waited this long...

I’ve been working on custom components in remake lately. It’s rough around the edges, but it’s finally starting to work! Still a lot to fix though.

Does anybody know why the desktop ChatGPT interface turns upside down sometimes? 🤔🙃

When I’m not building online experiences, I’m busy creating spooky offline ones with my wife at our English academy.

Not sure if the kids enjoyed it more or we did. 🎃

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻 #buildinpublic

Working on the media library & Unsplash integration for remake. Now the grid lets you preview images even if they don’t fit in the box, with a nice horizontal or vertical animation.

Next step: getting custom components to work. 🤔 Once that's done, I can start accepting alpha users. 😱

Not every weekend has to be productive.
Sometimes the best thing to “build” is just a pumpkin with friends. 🎃

I've been writing the terms of service and privacy policy for remake, and it really changes your perspective.

When you sign up somewhere, you just skip that stuff (🤫). But when you have to write your own, you see how much every line actually matters. 🤯

How do you create your TOS?

I've been around the build-in-public crowd for a while now and noticed something kind of obvious: people who build stuff they actually want to use keep going much longer.

So yeah, I think the best advice still holds. Build what you'd actually use.

Me: I’ll just tweak the layout a bit before bed.
Also me, 3 hours later: “What if I rebuild the editor architecture entirely?” 😅

Thankfully, I resisted the urge. 😄

Slowly building remake, one publish button at a time.
Sneak peek of the new publishing flow. And yes, there's confetti. 🎉

Can't wait to open it up for early users soon.

What's your "confetti moment" when you ship something?

I was chasing a weird Docker issue: every deploy restarted my services, even with no code changes.

After hours of debugging, I found out BuildKit was changing SHAs every build. Disabled it... then realized a Docker update fixed it all.

Lesson: update first, debug later 😅 #buildinpublic

"Structured procrastination" might just be the most accurate description of my productivity style.

I’m not procrastinating. I’m strategically prioritizing tasks in descending fake-importance order. 😄

Lately, I’ve been observing how people around me interact with modern tech. Most are barely scraping by. They’re faced with confusing interfaces, bloated features they’ll never use, and walls of marketing speak.

It’s easy to forget: we’re building for them, not just ourselves.

Interesting read: dansinker.com/posts/2025-0...

My favorite part is:

In the Who Cares Era, the most radical thing you can do is care.

In a moment where machines churn out mediocrity, make something yourself. Make it imperfect. Make it rough. Just make it.

I've always found small, personal projects way more inspiring than polished, corporate ones.
You're a little company, now act like one
You're afraid that looking like being a small company means you'll lose sales. It's actually the opposite -- you're alienating your best customers.

Yesterday was... eventful. A 15-hour power outage taught me a lot about redundancy. 😅

Especially when your Docker containers refuse to start without internet. This didn't happen in the old #php times.

Lesson learned: test things without internet connection. 🧨

OMG, I’ve been so busy on getting ⚡ remake to a minimum lovable product state that I totally missed that real people have started signing up for the waitlist! 😱 I have to speed up now. 💪

What are some good ways to keep in touch with people on the waitlist?

A month ago I could barely center a text in remake, now I can almost create a landing page. 🚀

Still, so many bugs, and UX issues to fix... 😅

“Your best position is your next position.” Probably the best advice. The key is to keep moving and avoid sitting in one position (🦐) all day. 👍

Today I realized that when I started web development, I could fit every CSS property in my head (except `azimuth`, the name stuck, but I had to look it up again). Now I need a second monitor just for the docs. Simpler times. 😅 #buildinpublic

The main thing I like about building a product is that it never gets boring. There’s always something new to learn, something to fix, or something to improve. The hard part is just deciding which fire to put out first. 🚀
