And yes, disassembled the thing and has to scratch/the corroded contacts of the switch. Working just fine now again.

Täusch ich mich oder sind die PolitikerInnenm, die den Klimawandel leugnen und zugleich aktuell an der Macht sind meist in einem Alter das den Schluss zulässt, dass sie die wirklich gravierenden Folgen nicht mehr erleben werden ? Leider, müsste man leicht zynisch dazu sagen. Aber dafür ihre Kinder und Enkel, was ihnen jedoch offenbar völlig Wurst ist.
