These types of evenings are some of my favourites after a busy day of yard work & other tasks.
Asha is so completely relaxed on my lap, that she’s let her back leg dangle. She’s in a deep sleep.
I’m reading an interesting anthology of Canadian poetry.

Why is it so hard to find an athletic jacket/hoodie that covers your rear end?
It’s cold here in SW Ontario — I want my butt covered from the chill when I’m walking on my treadmill in the garage at 5:30am. 🥶

35 books to go to meet my 2025 reading goal of 150 books.

I think I might set a lower goal next year as I find these last couple of months that I’ve been skipping the 500+ page books that are on my TBR.

Holding my most recent publication in my hands — it finally arrived today!
I contributed a book chapter to this fantastic scholarly edited collection.

Jane Goodall inspired my daughter to study evolutionary anthropology at uni—& it all started with this book I gifted her over a decade ago.

She texted me tonight absolutely gutted that her idol had passed.

RIP Dr. Goodall. You made a difference. 💔

Three octogenarian nuns have defied their diocese, run away from their nursing home and returned to their former convent in Salzburg, Austria, which they are now occupying.

Just finished Grady Hendrix’s, audiobook of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. Surprisingly enjoyable—even though it’s over 16 hrs & I winced through many graphic descriptions of body horror. 😖

Hey book friends—Have you been to the new Indie bookstore in St. Jacob’s, Ontario? It’s called, The Book Loft, & they’ve curated a nice selection of books. I don’t believe they’re on BlueSky, but they are on TikTok.
I went for the first time today, but it certainly won’t be my last!

Okay, I was drawn in and purchased my first Hobonichi Techo planner. I got the Hon. it’s got everything the Cousin has, but comes in hardcover. I also bought the 5-year journal. Thought it would be fun to try.
Got to get back to my planner game in 2026—I let it slide for the last couple of years.

I despise the RBC AI on both telephone and online banking.

All I had was a simple question about whether or not a service was still provided.

Why can I not talk to a customer service rep in my small town branch anymore on the phone?

July was my lowest reading month so far this year, but I still managed to finish 10 books. The three pictured in the graphic were the best 3 of the bunch.

Arcana Academy by Elisa Kova

I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this from @netgalley.bsky.social in Dec 2024

It was a 5-star read for me. I liked it so much, I bought the hardcover. It’s just been published.

I just got approved on @netgalley.bsky.social for the audiobook edition of T. Kingfisher’s Hemlock & Silver!

Love me a T. Kingfisher audiobook 🎧🥰—I just started reading her books this year & she’s become my favourite author of 2025. I’ve finished 6 of her books so far.

My husband sent me this link questioning why I’m not on the list—I think this is a challenge. 😂
I have over 1K books 📚🫣 so I’m 1/4 of the way to their “lucky number” & I think my collection would be considered a small library.

Challenge Accepted. 💪
