Support a white, multiply disabled, queer and trans comrade who recently witnessed border patrol detaining individuals. As a direct result of that event, they received a traumatic brain injury and were arrested, which prevented them from accessing the immediate care they needed. I'm Devi and I'm a queer, agender, severely and multiply disabled, chronically ill mad, AuDHD crip Malayali. I have fibromyalgia, severe myalgic encephalomyelitis, ysautonomia, cognitive dysfunctioning, long Covid, glaucoma, bipolar disorder with chronic depression, complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, ADHD, and I'm Autistic. I use a rollator and a power wheelchair. I'm receiving care from a home health aide and palliative care. I'm the primary parent to two children and partnered with my nesting person - all three who are also chronically ill and/or disabled. The Reich Citizenship Law (of Nuremburg laws of 1935) defined a citizen of the Reich as someone of German or related blood. Those deemed non-aryan were stripped of citizenship, regardless of where they were born, or how long their families had lived in Germany. Being born on German soil did not make one a German citizen if ones ancestry was not considered "Aryan." Children born in Germany to Jews, even in multi-generation German families, were excluded.
