It feels oddly like an accomplishment to discover that some Google searches defy AI Overview.

New washcloth time! This project is the knitter equivalent to buying new clothes when you don't want to do laundry: The washcloth pile ran out, so I'm making new things to put into it.

After mulling it over, I'm sharing a photo of yesterday's mending. It's messy — I was prioritizing done over perfect and learning a skill over Instagrammability, and I want these shorts back in circulation more than I want to inspire internet adoration. I like the mend anyway. 😁

Spun some wonky yarn on my first official non-takli supported spindle today — the Bluesky fiber arts contagion made me do it, really really — and I swear it restored a piece of my soul. I haven't spindle spun in ages, and apparently I really needed it. 🧶

Surprised myself by doing a couple of rounds of this crocheted doily that I started *coughcough* ago. One thing I like about doilies is that I can mess up a bit and it's not intensely obvious at a casual glance. 🧶

Feeling a bit wacky at the moment thanks to working on a piece of writing for way too long, then falling into a rather satirical Bluesky account, but I suspect this combination of trending keywords would have struck me as funny regardless.

My mini rose is beginning to bloom again, after a break. Hoping to follow suit soon.

Drinking Red Rose tea and contemplating which shawl pattern to pick for this yarn. 🧶 I’ve narrowed it down to (I think) four options, so now it’s time to nitpick.

…I did, in fact, type that as “knitpick” first. 😅

I've finished a thing! That thing is a pair of slightly lacy legwarmers I've been wanting to knit for umptybillion years.

The pattern, if you're interested, is not mine, and it's called Dima: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

...Now to figure out what to make next. It may be a shawl; we'll see. 🧶

These hair sticks I was making for an awesome local artsy-crafty market just popped up in my memories from (gulp) 11 years ago. I rather like this photo, if I do say so myself.

If you see this, post your orange art! 🧡

Handspun art yarn, “Tropical Easter.” Food dyes on Columbia wool, plied with cotton thread. (2008)

(One of these skeins got donated to a charity auction, and I’m thinking the other might still be in my stash somewhere…)

Starting my social media morning with Florida native American beautyberry (Callicarpa americana).

Beloved of birds, butterflies & bees, it makes a tasty jelly. Crushed leaves reportedly repel insects. Said to resist wind; in urban green spaces I often find it with trees.

Have a beautyberryful day!
