"The Way The Light Held You"

This painting was inspired by the golden native grasses and ancient oak trees at oak spring garden, where I spent July last year as an artist in residence.

This is part of a new series of works I've been creating that I will debut at the Whyte avenue artwalk.

I'm taking a beginner pottery class with my sister this winter and it's been so much fun! The best part is hanging out with my sister each week and doing something radically out of my normal art practice.

Took my first pottery class (week 1 of 10) at the clay hut. Had a blast. I feel it's good as a professional artist to sometimes step out of your medium of choice and create something totally different. Brings back some fun.

Looking forward to our group show "the Feminine Landscape" at the Art gallery of Alberta January 25! This amaryllis bulb is coming along steadily. Representative of the hidden work and disparities still facing women artists in the art world today.
