Indeed the latter: it is objectively more important to prepare for worst and hope it doesn't arrive than hope it doesn't arrive and be unprepared for the worst. This dogma extends to how Trump is using shock and awe tactics. It is evidently working as some but not all have recognised it.

I urge you to support space missions no matter the cost - at the end of human history it will be the only thing to save the human species from annihilation.

Write hate to the opposition party - keep them occupied. It's what they do and it's the most effective way to subtly discourage the opposition. Additionally you can vent.

This is correct, continuing to make policies that ignore or disregard the reality of life on your planet or removing policies that work to fight against the microscopic world will directly contribute to the possibility of a crisis for humans.

You should secretly hope to loose your money then because America is not an empire that will die quietly. Their fall would shake the globe and ignite everyone's worst fears. Unless of course the rest of the world somehow put their differences aside and United.

It they opposed it even a little they should have stayed in the position and delayed it as much as possible that's what the Republicans do and it's the most effective strategy to leverage against the system. Their resignation was a surrender.
