Zarina and Vel as merfolk based on Pliosaurus (A marine reptile from the Late Jurassic period) The colors of their tails are are black and white with patterns almost like orcas. Zarina is pregnant and laying bright orange eggs in shallow water while Vel helps with the birth. This piece was created to fit the themes of Mermay, Mayternity and Maysozoic. It is not considered to be a canon world event for the pair.

this character never really got far. originally they were for an urban fantasy story that involved strange magic and an inverted city in the sky, but i couldnt figure out how to integrate them! maybe some day i'll revisit that setting~
