My first foray into flash fiction!

The birds did not stop singing when the last dragon died. That was the strangest part, Craîzah thought. The earth did not tremble; the villages did not erupt in cheers; her pockets did not fill with gold. In the end, it was all too simple: just aim and shoot.

Stalks of tall vegetation sway in the breeze, the sun’s rays catching in their purples and blues, illuminating them from the inside out.
