I think you’ve hit on wby so many of us with visible disabilities turn to writing or visual art and other media: it’s a shot at being heard on our own terms when people can’t see our bodies.

Academia is one the only places my white middle class ass was ripe for targeting because I went to a top public school and not an Ivy. It’s bananapants all the way down.

Yeah, academia relies on a cultish notion of vocation so that talking about the abuse and labor exploitation is gauche and proof you don’t “love your work enough.” And God forbid you mention how many grad students are the children of PhDs and lawyers so they know the unspoken social codes.

The Democratic Party is out there trying to pick the perfect candidate like they look up the perfect coffee-maker on wirecutter. If they have this doodad and that price point, they’re a winner.

We learn Jack has always hated Trump because he tried to hit on Bianca when they were married and also tried to take the Arby’s from her he eventually got in the divorce. (This reboot needs Isabella Rossellini back).

To the extent they express this in economic terms it appears to be “white cis nondisabled men being corrupt is not theft, anyone who is not in that category having rights and stable employment is doing theft.” You can’t get there from here if you’re fetishizing Marx.

I’ve lived in Russia and there are a few things they do better: they fund somewhat more culture so theatergoing is cheaper, crepes and baked potatoes are street food, and they have some better trains and transit. Otherwise it’s exhausting, in too many of the ways Trumpism also is.
