I used the 2nd AI cover as the reference for my current cover for "Crush on Teacher, Obsessed with the Bad Boy". I paid an artist to create the cover; I used AI as a tool to aid in my creative endeavours. I think artists should be allowed to explore with all the tools available to them. #indieauthor

Perhaps I view things from a different perspective because I'm a writer and not a visual artist. I don't see myself ever using AI to create fiction wholesale, but I just wonder where the line is drawn with AI and creativity. Are some writers not legit because they use Grammarly, an AI assistant?

I would eventually try my hand at AI again and create a new cover, you can see the result below. But the whole ordeal made me really think about AI and society's relationship with it as it pertains to creativity.

Some people HATED the fact that I used an AI cover. Some even went as far as accusing me of creating my entire story with AI. I took issue with that; yes, the artwork was made with the assistance of generative AI. But my story? Absolutely not - every idea was 100% from my own demented brain.

2/ It really puts things into perspective. Like, I heard until the day he died, Mister Rogers did a morning swim to keep up his physical fitness. And I was always like "Really? Every day?" I get hung up on the perfection of it all. Like...he had to have missed the odd day, right? Random thoughts.

Terry Schott gave some excellent advice to combat perfectionism: he said to determine what makes a good day, a good week, and a good month for you and strive for that.
