Fab debut 7" from Mr. Pickett & The Eggs. The B-side's Velvet's cover far exceeds my and your expectation of Lou Reed on a speedball fronting Evan Johns & The H-Bombs on a couple of cases of Lone Star. It's that good.

I’m just finishing up The Ancient Hours by Michael Bible. Very well-written fiction in the Southern style somewhat like a male, present day Flannery O'Connor or a less bare-knuckled Harry Crews.

It's not every day that Alan Licht plays in an Orangevale living room, but it happened last night. Alan shook the rafters with a mesmerizing set of songs that brought to mind The Smashchords, Glenn Branca, and Pell Mell - often in the course of one song. Twas an evening for the history books.
