Something so bitter sweet about that closing cue. Strikes a chord more because I never wanted an ep to end back then. Pure art and entertainment.

But you can’t pick your friends nose

Tater… checking in.

My clients at WB were all pink slipped when DCI and WB merged. I would try reaching out to TrailerPark, MobScene, even TinyHero to get in the door. Asst editing position will be the path you shoot for or PA

Love Aefx… multiplane and puppetfx were my goto for many projects. Jumped to spec features from reality/doc world in 2010. Industry has destroyed or devalued the extras market although some studios still hire.

Hey CupKate… good luck w your pivot to horror. A fellow editor and friend @abarrocasfilm.bsky.social has some horror experience. He’s also very scary… talented. 🤪

Hey AJ… I’m Damon, post production editor for tv/film. Like most over the past year (or longer), the industry has not been kind. Lots of changes. Still, creatives that stick w it will evolve.

AVID was the first NLE I learned professionally in 1997. Definitely keep working w AVID but expand your toolset to Premiere and DaVinci when you can.

What’s up Andre. 25 years tenure for me as well in post. Lots of changes in the business, that’s for sure

What’s up Ty? Which tools do you prefer when animating? I’ve edited a grip of animated features from DC…spec feature projects for WB. I worked w animatics, etc… never was a true ‘animation editor’ but good luck w your pivot.

What are you using to edit? Project resolution?
November 14, 2024 at 2:50 AM
I’m glad you’re pushing through and creating the stories you envisioned. An editor (that’s the right fit) will offer insight on alternatives to structure, and lean toward solutions that make the project as strong as it can be. Good luck.

Yup.. the difference between an editor and an operator. Knowing how to structure, build moments, refine, and maintain composure when getting ridiculous network/studio notes. Push and pull with which battles to fight, and concede.

After 25 years… I began my pivot to a field far from media. Was a good run.

Why am I just now hearing of CC? Love the art style and always a sucker for alliteration with titles.
