2/ Lung screening saves lives. If we achieve 100% national coverage by 2029, around 1,500 lung cancer deaths could be avoided each year – and the economic benefit would be worth nearly £1 billion annually.

Turning point for cancer | Cancer Research UK
The campaign is based on Cancer Research UK's manifesto’s five pledges which could help to prevent 20,000 cancer deaths every year by 2040.

We later headed across London to the Department of Health and Social Care to hand in our letter addressed to @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social, signed by 35,000 supporters and people impacted by cancer. Now the UK Government must respond and deliver a #TurningPointForCancer.
