In the end, it's just sad. Kerala is quite impoverished, and this money could improve a lot of people's lives. Instead, some local 'royals' are just sitting on this hoard and are likely slowly stealing it.

The closet scene in 'Signs', as well as the 'Alien Encounter' ride at Disneyworld gave me a pathological fear of aliens. I doubt I could tolerate an older relative telling me there was an alien in their closet.

We don't actually have to give those things up. Just switch to renewable power, EVs, heat pumps etc. At this stage the only barrier is fossil fuel rent seeking and partisan politics.
