In 2017, Leanhardt got his start coaching in the Atlantic League. Following this role was a quick stop at a Montana community college before joining the Yankees Minor League system in 2018.

Almost as interesting as the bat design itself is Leanhardt's story to the bigs. With a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in physics from MIT, Leanhardt taught physics at the Univ. of Michigan for seven years before making the jump to coaching baseball.

Leanhardt was hard at work experimenting and tinkering with the bat design in the Yankees minor league hitting department beginning in 2022. Still a work in progress, Leanhardt then the team's lead analyst brought them up to the major league level in 2024. Guys like Anthony Volpe began to swing…

Last June, Kampe signed a two year coaching extension through the 2028-29 season at $400,00 per year.

They were also regular season champs in 2017. In addition, he has 8 other tournament and regular season championships during his tenure in Oakland.

Kampe is also a 4x recipient of the Summit League Coach of The Year Award and was named GLIAC Coach of The Year in 1988.

and has a .563 winning percentage. Kampe is 2-4 in the NCAA D1 tournament and 3-5 in the NCAA D2 tournament when the program was a D2 school.

Just last season, Kampe and the Golden Grizzlies won the Horizon League tournament including the regular season.
