Hard surface modeling in blender is for sickos.

I'm one of 'em too.

And yet Barrett rejects the idea that trans people are a suspect class.

Can I be the weirdo artsy kid and say that while I adore V:TM, I'll always be a bigger simp for Changeling: The Dreaming?

C:TD feels like the stuff Miyazaki and Del Toro films are made of.

I appreciate you answering the question "What if Ezra Klein was a restaurant reviewer."

They're never going to build affordable housing on Parcel K, are they? :(

I have heard from peeps that there is reason to doubt the city estimate as to the cost to repair the fountain.

It seems obscenely inflated, tbh.

I'll ride or die for this fountain, one of the reasons for that being that Herb Caen hated it, and it survived Herb Caen.

It should survive these techbros too.

Always felt safest riding in Berkeley where they'll basically give whole streets over to bikes as parkways of sorts.

The genesis of all of this is CAYimby and I'll die on that hill.

I'll see myself out.

I will continue to argue that the only way to get the recall reform that CA desperately needs is to make it so obvious that they're consistently abused that something has to be done.

For this to be the case, politicians on all sides of the spectrum have to lose recalls.

There's this whole phenomena where sports performance gets better the more people are participating - but there are still some crazy outliers.

Women today climb harder than men did thirty years ago, but even in 93 Lynn Hill was the first to free the Nose and that wasn't repeated for a decade.

And yet we're still not worthy of being a suspect class according to SCOTUS.

I mean - civil war is itself a form of giving up on representative democracy.
August 4, 2025 at 5:58 AM
Unfortunately I think it's becoming increasingly clear that there's no path through this situation which doesn't involve legitimate calamity.

The failures that allowed this are inherent in our Constitution and would require those who have profited from those failures to relinquish control.

If people think I swear a lot now...

Honestly I prefer to ride in the car's lane until someone is behind me, and then switch into the oncoming lane (if it's empty) long before I'll use a standard bike lane like in the pic.

Bike lane's as a last resort.

This is part of why big parts of Berkeley are amazing to ride through fwiw.

It's tough to know with Max because he's extremely slippery with his actual support.

He'll talk about how Vienna's system is cool and how he supports it, but then of course, all of his lobbying is explicitly in favor of neoliberal free market solutions.
July 27, 2025 at 6:17 AM
I still can't get over this gem from Max who I gotta say is one of those most responsible for laundering explicit neoliberalism into progressive circles.
